Surrey Police are appealing for information after a number of imitation firearms and air rifles were taken during a burglary in Farnham.
The items were stolen from a property in Upper Hale Road between 1:30am and 8am on Sunday 7th April.
Three of the replica firearms have since been recovered from an abandoned vehicle in Aldershot.
Waverley Borough Commander Tom Budd said: "I am appealing for anyone within the community who may know of the whereabouts of these imitation guns and air rifles to share any information they have with officers.
"I am anxious these items are recovered as they can pose a safety threat if they get into the wrong hands. If you see these being advertised for sale anywhere or are offered them directly please contact Surrey Police immediately".
"Carrying any firearm, including imitation, BB guns or air weapons in a public place is a serious offence and could result in a custodial sentence. Owning a BB gun or replica gun is not illegal".
"However, if it is carried in public and causes someone to have a fear of violence, this is a potential offence with a maximum punishment of up to five years in prison".
"Surrey Police works with young people to educate them about the dangers of BB guns and air weapons and I hope members of the public will act swiftly if they can help locate these stolen units."
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference WV/12/1574. Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
