A POP-UP shop showcasing the work of a textile designer will arrive in Dorking later this month.
Rebecca Macefield will bring her Little Becks Home Decor business to Butterhill Studios, in South Street, on April 24, to give shoppers the opportunity to see her range of hand-crafted fabrics and soft-furnishings.
A graduate of the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, she set up her business two years ago, after taking time out to become a mum.
She told the Advertiser: "I've always loved fabrics and design, so it was the natural thing to do."
Inspired by the Surrey countryside and her favourite coastal retreats, she produces her own range of cushions, bags, purses and bunting and handmade soaps.
Selling mainly at farmers' markets and craft fairs, she was recently among a group of the county's artisans picked for the Country Life Craft Fair.
Buoyed by the positive feedback that event brought from John Lewis and designer Emma Bridgewater, the Byfleet resident is now keen to reach a wider audience.
"Working from home, it's difficult to find venues and outlets for my produce," she said. "When a family member told me about the pop-up shops run by Butterhill Studios, I knew there was the opportunity to make more people aware of what I do."
If the pop-up shop is a success, she plans to return later in the year.
