DORKING Swimming Club member Polly Saines is celebrating after winning ten gold medals and recording seven personal bests in recent weeks.
The 14-year-old won a gold medal for each of the ten races in which she competed in the multi-disability category at the Surrey County Qualifiers swimming events at Crystal Palace and Guildford spectrum.
Her golden wins were for the 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly; the 100m freestyle, backstroke, individual medley; and the 200m freestyle, backstroke and individual medley.
Polly, who trains six days a week, said: "I was very proud and I'm looking forward to the Deaf Nationals in May in Loughborough."
These achievements follow her successes earlier this year when she competed in the English Federation of Disability Sport events, where she was awarded with certificates for breaking British Deaf records in her age group (14 and under).
She also received a special certificate in recognition of breaking the British deaf record for the 50m butterfly two years ago, when she was just 12 years old.
Her mother, Alison Saines, said: "We are, of course, extremely proud of her."
