OLD Reigatians' poor recent run continued with another defeat at Park Lane on Saturday.
However, ORs put up a spirited display against title chasing Chobham, denying them a bonus point in a well-contested encounter.
It was the second close battle between the two sides this season, with the previous meeting back in December ending in a 16-16 draw.
But Chobham have been on an incredible run since the turn of the year, going unbeaten in 12 games heading into the clash.
The league leaders had to work hard, however, to stretch their run to 13, with ORs putting in a battling display at a wet and muddy Park Lane.
Unfortunately, ORs only had a Nick Grant penalty to show for their efforts, but they will be buoyed by a gutsy performance.
Chobham were first to score with a try from their right winger, before Grant slotted over a penalty to reduce the deficit to two.
ORs then pushed Chobham back and were unfortunate not to go in ahead, with Grant missing a penalty attempt.
And in the second half, Chobham made them pay with two further tries, although ORs denied them a bonus point with a battling display.
The result leaves ORs in mid-table on 49 points, one point ahead of Portsmouth in seventh and ten points behind local rivals Effingham & Leatherhead.
ORs do have a game in hand, which they play this Saturday when they face Old Alleynians.
And ORs will be hoping for a repeat of the performance against the newly-promoted side last time out, when ORs won 53-27.
However, they cannot afford to be complacent, as highlighted by their recent defeat to bottom club Camberley.
