THE weather has caused havoc with the sporting fixtures across Surrey again today (Saturday).
With snow and rain falling across large parts of the county today, several football, rugby and hockey fixtures have been postponed, adding to an already congested fixture backlog.
In rugby, Dorking's crucial National League Three London clash at Westcombe Park is a victim of the weather, with the pitch deemed unplayable due to lying snow and extensive waterlogging. No new date has yet been confirmed for the fixture.
In football, several non-league games across the county have also fallen foul of the weather, including Leatherhead's clash with fellow play-off contenders Crawley Down Gatwick in the Ryman League Division One South.
The fixtures involving Merstham (home versus Ramsgate) and Chipstead (away at Three Bridges) have also been postponed.
In the Combined Counties League Premier Division, Dorking's home match with Ash United is off, while Horley Town and South Park have both seen their games postponed, at home to Hanworth Villa and away at Hartley Wintney respectively.
In the Sussex County League Division One, Dorking Wanderers' home match with Hailsham Town has also been postponed, together with Lingfield's home game against Sidley United.
League leaders Redhill are still hopeful of playing their top-of-the-table clash at Peacehaven & Telscombe though, with the match likely to go ahead in Sussex provided there is no further heavy rain.
Meanwhile, the weather had also prompted the postponement of several hockey fixtures, including Horley's home clash with Old Kingstonian II.
