JASON HENRY scored a hat-trick as play-off chasing Whyteleafe hit struggling East Grinstead Town for six at East Court this evening (Tuesday). Henry fired in a treble as Leafe put the Wasps to the sword in the Ryman League Division One South clash, with Roscoe Dsane also netting a brace for John Fowler's men. Things started well for Leafe as Guy Harding diverted a Roscoe Dsane cross into his own net after 11 minutes, although the warning signs had already been on show for the hosts, with Dsane squandering a good chance early on. Grinstead huffed and puffed as they looked for a route back into the game, but they failed to really test Leafe goalkeeper Sheikh Ceesay. Marc Pelling did go close as he saw his scrambled effort cleared off the line by Ryan Fowler before things got worse for the hosts, with Henry controlling a cross on his chest and coolly finishing past Wasps goalkeeper Sam Johnson-Freeman. Grinstead player-coach John-Paul Collier then drew a good save from Ceesay from a 30-yard free kick, but the visitors went in 2-0 ahead at the break. It was almost three soon after the restart, but Jason Thompson's thunderous free kick rattled back off the crossbar. Boyle forced a save out of Ceesay at the other end, but Leafe made it 3-0 just before the hour mark, with the simplest of goals. Ceesay pumped a long ball forward and Dsane latched onto it, finishing low under Johnson-Freeman to make it 3-0. And with that, the floodgates opened as Leafe carved Grinstead open at will, with Henry adding his fourth and fifth in quick succession with a tap-in and a penalty respectively, after Jack North had been penalised for handball. Dsane then added a sixth as Leafe showed no signs of mercy, with substitute Greg Andrews almost adding a seventh on the break, only to be denied by the Wasps' goalkeeper. Dsane almost completed his hat-trick as the game entered injury time, but his effort just whistled past the crossbar.
