THE wintry weather with rain, sleet and snow has continued in East Surrey this afternoon. Further snow and sleet has fallen on the hilly areas such as Reigate Hill, Lower Kingswood, Mogador, Mugswell, and Tadworth but mainly rain has come out of the skies lower down, in places such as Horley, Woodhatch, Salfords and Oxted.
Bedraggled and weary runners on a two-day "Extreme Energy" run of 66 miles were grateful for the refreshments offered at Reigate Hill on their way to Merstham this afternoon.
The roads seem to be unaffected by the sleet and wet snow still falling this afternoon.
Gritters have been out and have even been seen in action on Wray Common Road, Reigate.
The temperature on top of Reigate Hill at 2.15pm was 1.5C (35F) so the snow was not settling but the ground was still slushy after this morning's snowfall at 9am.
