BOSS Barry Regelous kept Foxes on their title track following this hard-earned victory following a frantic finale at Bottom Meadow on Saturday.
Regelous' severely depleted squad overcame setbacks to triumph at the basement boys after an extraordinary contest.
After 20 minutes, man of the match right-back Dan Canning's cross saw Jovaun Henry's far post shot rebound to safety off an upright.
Jamie Jagdeo broke the deadlock on 28 minutes, finishing off a superb passing movement involving midfielder Michael Ellett, Karl Parker and Jagdeo, having been started by Canning.
The visitors were made to pay for profligacy in front of goal when makeshift centre-back Gary Webb's costly slip from goalkeeper Aiden Upward's long clearance saw Mathew Cooper punish the visitors severely with a 56th-minute equaliser.
Midfielder Danny Clayton restored Foxes' lead after 66 minutes, shooting home at the far post following fine approach work by Canning, Ellett and Parker.
Alex Jeffers saw a far-post header rebound to safety off the crossbar, but Foxes stretched to 3-1 when midfielder Jagdeo beat Upward from a spot-kick to complete his brace.
A minute later, captain Adam Cassim was cautioned by referee Rueben Simon, following a push in the penalty area, but keeper Richie Bull saved superbly from Jeffers' resultant spot-kick.
Billy Brice lit the blue touch-paper in a frantic finale, following his 45-yard pile-driver which left Bull helpless.
Clayton then saw his 30-yard shot rebound to safety via the bar.
Squad: Richie Bull, Dan Canning, Jack Naraine, Danny Clayton, Adam Cassim (capt), Gary Webb, Michael Ellett (Thomas Wild 73), Jamie Jagdeo, Karl Parker, Joe Chandler, Jovaun Henry. Subs unused: Peter Collard, Oliver Waiton.
