THIEVES made off with a large haul of power tools after raiding a container at a construction site in Merstham.
Surrey Police is appealing for information about the crime, which took place between 5.45pm on Wednesday March 13 and 7.30am the following morning, at a building site in Nailsworth Crescent.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Colin Snell from Reigate CID said: "I would appeal to anyone who either saw anything suspicious in the area around the time the offence took place or who has been offered any tools for sale which they believe could be stolen to contact officers with information.
"There are several heavy items included in the stolen property which would have required a vehicle to move and it is likely that more than one offender was present at the scene for some time therefore I believe someone has seen something which could assist with out investigation."
The stolen tools include two Honda wacker plates, two Honda ydraulic braker packs, two petrol Stihl disc cutters, three Honda generators, a cement mixer and a chainsaw. Shovels, spades, two wheelbarrows, a post drill and a nail gun were also taken.
Local neighbourhood officers from the Reigate and Banstead Safer Neighbourhood Team are assisting detectives with their investigation by carrying out enquires in the Merstham area.
Anyone with information should to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference RB/13/1988 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
