A WOMAN was violently assaulted while walking through an alleyway in Horley.
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after the victim was approached by two women in an alleyway on Manor Close last Monday (January 5) at around 9.30am. The attack left her with cuts and bruising to her head and face, but she did not need hospital treatment.
She reported the incident the following day and now a witness appeal has been launched.
Investigating officer PC Gavin Dublin-Cumberbatch, said: "This was a vicious assault which has left the victim with not only physical injuries which will take time to heal but the experience will no doubt stay with her for some time.
"It is believed a silver car drove passed the scene moments after the incident occurred, could this have been you? If so, please contact us as you may have information vital to our investigation.
"Since the assault was brought to police attention we have made a number of enquiries into the offence but we believe those responsible would have spoken to others about their part in the assault and I urge these people to come forward."
