A CREW from Horley fire station had to stop flames from a burning car from spreading to a nearby house last night.
Firefighters were called to Vicarage Lane shortly before 10pm to deal with a burning car on the drive of a residential home.
On arrival the crew found the car "well alight" with the whole engine compartment ablaze. The residents of the nearby house had moved to safety but firefighters managed to ensure the flames did not spread beyond some slight burn damage to a neighbouring fence.
