A middle-aged man suffered multiple injuries in a crash near Leatherhead early this morning.
The A24 between Headley Road and the Knoll Roundabout was shut for several hours following the accident which took place just after 2.30am.
The driver of a Rover was seriously injured in the wreckage and had to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to hospital.
The driver of a Mercedes suffered bruising and a broken wrist.
Fire crews from Leatherhead and Epsom attended the incident.
