SOUPING-UP fast cars is not usually the activity of 10-year-olds, but pupils at a Redhill primary school got the chance to adorn a BMW.

Year 5 pupils at St John's School entered a regional livery competition by the car manufacturer asking them to create a design showing "the greatest day out with family and friends".

Ruby Bambridge was delighted when her design was picked to be printed on the side of a brand new car.

She also won an annual family pass to English Heritage sites.

The car, showing the winning design, was brought into the school playground for all to admire. Amy and Hope, also from St John's School, won second and third place with day tickets for English Heritage.

All three girls were also very pleased to go home with a soft toy dog.

Ruby's entry will now be put forward to the national competition.
