POLICE are hunting for a man who distracted a Horley woman in her 90s before stealing hundreds of pounds from her house.
The incident occurred between 11.50am and 12.30pm yesterday (November 25) at a home on The Crescent, Horley, when the lady answered her door to a man.
The man claimed he was visiting the address to carry out maintenance work, before forcing his way into the house. Once inside, he took £250 from the woman before taking another £150 from elsewhere in the property.
Investigating officer Detective Constable James Vernon, said: "I would ask anyone who either saw anything suspicious in this area around the time of the offence or who believes the offender may have also visited their address to contact officers with information."
