EAST Surrey Hospital tested two people for Ebola after they arrived at the hospital showing possible symptoms for the disease.
The Earlswood hospital had to carry out tests on the patients to rule out Ebola and in both cases the result was negative.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) has said its staff are well prepared if a patient was found to be suffering from the deadly virus, which has killed almost 5,000 people in West Africa.
A spokeswoman said: "Relevant information has been shared with staff across the trust and we continue to roll out infection prevention and control training to minimise any risk.
"There have been two patients where tests to rule out Ebola were required - in both instances the results were negative."
Tests are carried out on patients who have a temperature of 38 degrees or higher, or a history of a fever in the previous 24 hours, and who have returned from a country hit by the outbreak.
Those confirmed to have Ebola are transferred to The Royal Free Hospital in London.
Screening for Ebola started at Gatwick Airport on Tuesday, and anyone arriving from Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea is examined for symptoms of the disease.
Screenings at Gatwick are taking place in the immigration halls at each terminal with the help of Border Force officials.
