TWO anti-fracking protesters have stepped up their protest outside the Horse Hill drill site by binding themselves together.
A 'lock-on' is a peaceful form of protest which involves using a modified tube or other object to join people's hands and arms together, making them more difficult to remove.
The two women are part of an anti-fracking protest camp which has been stationed at the site, near Horley, for more than two weeks.
This is despite Horse Hill Developments, the drill operators, repeatedly stressing that the drill is for "conventional" oil targets only and not shale gas.
In a press release issued by campaigning Britain and Ireland Frack Free (BIFF), the group says the pair are blocking the entrance to the site, where oil was recently discovered.
A spokesperson for the group explained protesters were taking action over fears that fracking for shale gas may take place at the site in the future.
