CHILDREN'S play in Oxted's Master Park has received a double boost.

Hot on the heels of its playground equipment being upgraded, the go-ahead has now been given for new disabled facilities.

A £1,506 allocation from Oxted county councillor Nick Skellett has enabled the play equipment to be repaired, and a new swing to be installed.

Meanwhile, Tandridge District Council has given the green light for a disabled-friendly roundabout and two swings to be installed there.

David Borer from the Tandridge Access Group welcomed the news, saying: "We fully support this application which will be of significant benefit to disabled children in the community."

An appeal for funds is likely to be launched shortly by the Friends of Master Park. The playground is part of the Master Park charity and is funded by park users, donations and the occasional grant .
