Warlingham's youth section are forging ahead in the new season, buoyed by the generous sponsorship from local housebuilders Chartwell Land & New Homes of Oxted.
With more than 400 children registered to play rugby at the Hamsey Green Club, Warlingham makes them one of the largest and most successful rugby clubs in the area. In addition, a Hillcrest Netball Club, Selsdon Cricket Club and Purley Lacrosse Club are based at the Warlingham home. With the new sponsorship in place Warlingham were able to host two mini and junior rugby festivals at the club where more than 1,000 boys and girls attended.
In the past year Warlingham have provided rugby coaching to several schools in the area and the response from schools, pupils and parents has been very positive. Chartwell Land & New Homes Ltd have constructed a number of prestige developments in the area and have several other projects planned. The funding will go towards additional training and coaching equipment, and facilities which we sorely need to provide for the hundreds of boys and girls who play at the club on Sunday mornings."
