CYCLING students at Greenacre School for Girls raised more than £2,000 for The Children's Trust.
Pedal-pushing pupils from the junior department of the school at Sutton Lane, Banstead, took part in a sponsored cycle ride.
Greenacre became a Bike It school back in September 2013 in collaboration with sustainable transport charity Sustrans.
The girls learn about safe cycling, bike maintenance, cycling for health and fitness and cycling to promote a better environment.
They have taken part in activities such as "bikeability" training, Bling Your Bike events, bike maintenance sessions and after-school picnic cycles.
Just before the summer holiday all the girls took part in a sponsored cycle to raise money for the Tadworth Court children's hospital, their nominated charity.
The event took place around the school field and each time the girls completed a lap they received a gold star.
Now that all the sponsor money has been received the Greenacre girls say they have raised £2,125.10 for The Children's Trust – as well as improving their fitness levels.
