WARLINGHAM Park School can go to the top of the class after clinching a prestigious accolade.
The Chelsham Common school won the National Education Business ICT Facility Award for providing "outstanding progress in the provision of a first class environment" for the teaching of ICT and related subjects.
It follows the opening of the school's ICT suite in March by the Mayor of Croydon.
Each pupil has their own login and private directory, allowing class work to be stored in a structured format, and PCs tailored to children of primary age have been installed in the refurbished suite.
The award was presented by former British swimming star Sharron Davies MBE at a ceremony in London.
Mike Donald, the school's head teacher, said: "For a smaller independent primary school such as ours, to be recognised for the significant investment that we have made in our ICT provision and curriculum development is like having our cake and eating it."
