ST MATTHEW'S church hall in Redhill has a new look.

Kitchen and toilet facilities have been installed at the hall, in Station Road, and were blessed in a special dedication service on Sunday.

Funding for the refurbishment was partly provided by a grant from the Community Buildings Grant Scheme, which is administered by Surrey Community Action on behalf of Surrey County Council.

In addition to the funds raised by the congregation, the community and church reserves, the Church Council received £15,000 from Surrey County Council which was match-funded by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council.

The modern work surfaces, lighting and units provide more space, storage and light for those using the hall.

The hall is an excellent space in the centre of Redhill, located behind the church, in Station Road, with capacity for 200 people in the main hall and other smaller rooms available for hire.

The Rev Andrew Cunnington said: "I am delighted with the new facilities and thank everyone who donated to our fundraising efforts, the Surrey Community Buildings Scheme and Reigate and Banstead Council for their support.

"These new facilities provide people using the hall with a modern, bright community space."

The hall bookings manager, Wendy Wren, can be contacted on 01737 762220.
