MORNING rush-hour services to London Bridge will be cut from the timetable in 2015.
Thousands of Reigate and Redhill passengers who rely on the direct route to the capital face three years of disruption during London Bridge's refurbishment.
Commuters are up in arms over the changes, which has seen the 8.02am and 8.31am from Redhill already diverted to London Victoria.
From January, the 6.56am and 7.51am from Redhill to London Bridge will be axed, and the 7.40am from Reigate will end at London Victoria instead.
Commuter Holly Thompson, who works in London Bridge, said she and her partner may not buy a home in the area because of the changes.
She said: "For a commuter town it's awful. We're not moving until I know what's going on. We wouldn't be able to get to our jobs, which is the most basic thing."
Her 8.31am train has been diverted to London Victoria, meaning she now has to change at East Croydon or take the underground.
She has also accused Southern of "not being open or honest" about the changes.
"The fact that nobody knows about it, nobody can protest about it," she said. "People are panicking about childcare. Major life decisions are affected by train services."
The limited capacity at London Bridge during its Thameslink refurbishment work means Southern has lost three of its six approaches to the station.
Reigate MP Crispin Blunt has demanded to know why the Redhill line is bearing the brunt of disruption.
In a letter to Southern he said: "It appears the majority of alterations caused by the reduction in capacity at London Bridge, south of East Croydon, have been allocated to Redhill line services.
"My constituents are not only angry, but totally frustrated. Not only are they dealing with changes, but a lack of coaches on peak services and trains running at full capacity before they reach Earlswood or Redhill.
"Frequent travellers are paying an extortionate amount of money in return for three years of total disruption to their journey."
Southern spokesman Chris Hudson said: "Given the capacity constraints due to the work, we have worked very hard to timetable as many trains as possible into London Bridge and where we couldn't fit trains in, we have mitigated the impact as much as possible."
He added that to mitigate the effects of less trains, the 7.30am from Earlswood to London Bridge will double from four coaches to eight, with four more coaches added at Redhill.
Mr Hudson said details of changes have been "widely communicated" and information on the January 2015 alterations will be available 12 weeks before.
