LINGFIELD boss Dixie Dean likened his side to Arsenal after they lost out to an injury time strike against Sevenoaks Town last night (Tuesday).
Dean's men twice fought back from a goal down and looked to be heading for a crucial point in the Southern Counties East League clash, only for Miles Cornwell to net a dramatic winner as the game entered injury time to seal victory for the visitors as the hosts were appealing for offside.
It was the second time in four days that Lingfield had lost 3-2 at home and Dean said he could not criticise his players, who he felt were not being rewarded for their efforts.
"What can I do," he said.
"Why does this always happen to me.
"We are playing well but we are not getting our just rewards and it was a shocking decision at the end.
"I would rather that we were playing rubbish and I could have a go at them.
"I feel a bit like Arsenal – we are playing nice football but we are not winning games."
Lingfield travel to face Cray Valley (PM) on Saturday.
