PREMIER League football is back as Manchester United face Swansea in the first match of the new campaign today (Saturday).
Louis Van Gaal takes charge of United in the league for the first time at Old Trafford at lunchtime, while newly-promoted Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers are in action today, and Burnley begin with a home match against Chelsea on Monday.
But who will get off to a flyer? We take a look at the opening matches here.
Manchester United v Swansea
The feelgood factor is back at Old Trafford and Louis Van Gaal's revolution is underway.
He is looking to bring European football back to Old Trafford after a disappointing seventh-placed finish last season. And he has been given a good fixture to start life in the Premier League.
Swansea are without Michu this season after his move to Napoli and while they have added Bafetimbi Gomis to complement Wilfried Bony up front, they are unlikely to have enough to trouble a resurgent Manchester United side looking to make a statement of intent.
Prediction: 2-0
Leicester City v Everton
Leicester City are back in the big time, having romped to the Championship title last season.
They have been away from the top flight for a decade, but the Foxes are worthy of their place at England's top table once again and will be keen to stay there.
However, they face a tough opening game against an Everton side boosted by the permanent arrivals of Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry, who impressed on loan last season.
Leicester's home form will be key, but they may find it difficult against Roberto Martinez's organised side and may have to settle for a point.
Prediction: 1-1
QPR v Hull City
Queens Park Rangers are back in the Premier League and with Harry Redknapp in charge, they will be keen to stay there.
Redknapp has made some astute additions on and off the field, with Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker arriving to bolster the defence and Glenn Hoddle coming in as coach to provide additional experience to Redknapp's backroom staff.
QPR will be keen to avoid a repeat of their disastrous campaign two years ago, which started with a 5-0 defeat at home to Swansea and never really recovered.
Hull City will be difficult opponents, but with Shane Long leaving for Southampton this week, they could be light on attacking options.
The Tigers are strong in midfield and last year proved themselves capable in the top flight, with Steve Bruce hoping to build on a solid first season back in the top flight.
It may be a tough start for them though against a QPR side riding on the crest of a promotion wave.
Prediction: 2-1
Stoke City v Aston Villa
After a good finish to last season, Mark Hughes is now looking to push Stoke City on to become a regular top half side.
The Potters have made some good additions, with former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic the standout arrival at the Britannia Stadium, with Hughes' side now considered one of the best of the rest in the Premier League, outside of the top seven.
In contrast, Aston Villa are among those tipped for another difficult season, with star striker Christian Benteke out injured for the start of the season.
A good start is pivotal for Paul Lambert to silence the doubters, but it is unlikely they will get that at Stoke.
Prediction: 2-0
West Brom v Sunderland
Alan Irvine has a tough job on his hands at The Hawthorns.
West Brom narrowly avoided the drop last season and although they have strengthened with defender Joleon Lescott and striker Brown Ideye among the summer arrivals, they still look to be in for a season of struggle.
Sunderland's hopes may rest on keeping hold of Connor Wickham, who impressed towards the back end of last season.
Gus Poyet's side proved the doubters wrong and managed to survive, having looked destined for the drop with less than two months of the season to go.
They will hope to push on this time around, and could get off to a good start at The Hawthorns.
Prediction: 1-2
West Ham v Tottenham
The Hammers enjoyed playing against Tottenham last season, winning both league matches and a Carling Cup encounter too.
However, they are without Andy Carroll again due to injury and with a lot of new faces in the side, it is difficult to know how they will fare this season.
A good start is imperative for Sam Allardyce, who despite keeping the Hammers in the Premier League for two seasons, still has not won over all of the West Ham supporters.
His Hammers face a side now managed by Mauricio Pochettino now, with the former Southampton boss sure to introduce the pressing game that helped the Saints to eighth place last season.
Tottenham may be outsiders for the top four, but if Pochettino can get the best out of players like Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela and Emmanuel Adebayor, Spurs could just upset the odds.
Prediction: 1-1
Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Arsenal were very impressive last week in the Community Shield win against Manchester City.
With Alexis Sanchez adding flair to the Gunners' attacking options, and with Aaron Ramsey fit in midfield, they could be title contenders if they can improve in games against the big boys.
They have rarely struggled against teams in the bottom half and facing a Crystal Palace side reeling from the departure of manager Tony Pulis this week, they should get the new season off to a flyer.
Prediction: 3-0
Liverpool v Southampton (Sunday)
Without Luis Suarez, it is hard to see Liverpool repeating the season they had last season, when they came so close to winning the title.
Yes, they have strengthened their squad and with players like Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Emre Can arriving at Anfield, they definitely have extra options available.
They should be strong again, but whether they are title contenders may depend on the goals of Daniel Sturridge.
This week, they face a Southampton side that has lost several key players, including three to Liverpool.
But talk about a possible battle against relegation have perhaps been allayed by a number of new arrivals, with Ronald Koeman sure that his side can again compete for a top half finish.
Anfield will be a tough place to start though and Brendan Rodgers' side will fancy their chances.
Prediction: 2-1
Newcastle v Manchester City (Sunday)
Newcastle have made some sensible additions this summer as they look to build upon another top half finish.
Daryl Janmaat, Siem De Jong and Remy Cabella are all astute signings and could help the Magpies push for European football, if they can sustain consistency for a full season.
They will provide a tough test for the Premier League champions, who are looking to become just the third team to retain the title.
City were humbled in the Community Shield against Arsenal, albeit with a few key players missing, but they will need to be on their game to get their season off to a good start.
Prediction: 1-2
Burnley v Chelsea (Monday)
Burnley are everyone's tips for relegation, but Sean Dyche will relish the underdogs title.
Dyche did a fantastic job to get Burnley up from the Championship and they will enjoy the experience of upsetting the odds.
They have been handed a tough start though against a Chelsea side filled with talent.
Jose Mourinho has made a number of good additions to add flair, steel and goals to the Blues this summer, with Chelsea the bookmakers' favourites to win the title this season.
However, they must avoid any slip-ups against teams like Burnley if they are to fulfil their promise.
Prediction: 1-3
