Horley man accused of stealing nearly £500,000 from employers

A MAN from Horley is going to face trial accused of stealing nearly £500,000 from his employers.

Ghazala Ashraf, of Oakwood Road, appeared at Lewes Crown Court last Wednesday to face charges of theft by employee and concealing and transferring criminal property.

Between August 1, 2010, and November 30, 2012, Ashraf is alleged to have stolen £457,196.77 from Apcoa Parking.

The company is based on Ring Road South, at the South Terminal of Gatwick Airport.

Between September 6, 2005, and December 17, 2012, the 43-year-old is said to have concealed and transferred the cash.

Ashfraf, of Oakwood Road in Horley, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He was released on unconditional bail to next appear for a week-long trial at the same court on April 7 next year.
