A FORMER air stewardess is aiming high with her invention.
Mother-of-three Emma Myers intends to clean up with her creation – a hygienic nail brush.
And the early signs are encouraging: a "terrifying" appearance on Dragons' Den and a hoped-for link with a supermarket chain for her product.
Currently a nail and beauty therapist, her Bruzz nail brush idea came through her work.
Mrs Myers, 35, of Heath Road, Caterham, said: "It was a sore point among people in my profession that you can't properly sanitise nail brushes to be 100 per cent clean for the next person.
"And also the soap and dirty water would splash everywhere."
Her device has removable bristles with three-dimensional heads, and it is shaped to keep the water spray within the device, so it can be cleaned after use.
The bristles are also anti-bacterial and vanilla-scented.
She has even persuaded her three young sons, who were not keen on harsh bristles, to clean their nails regularly. Mrs Myers said about 6,000 of her nail brushes have been sold, primarily through the product's website and a trade wholesaler.
But her biggest breakthroughs may still lie ahead.
She has already been filmed for Dragons' Den, the BBC series where new entrepreneurs try to convince a panel of investors to buy-into their innovations.
Although Mrs Myers is sworn to silence about the outcome of the filming, she said: "Facing the Dragons' Den team must have been one of the most terrifying things I've done in my life."
And she hopes to clinch a deal shortly with a leading supermarket group to stock her product.
The former cabin crew member with British Airways is now managing director of MyBruzz Ltd.
Mrs Myers said she has "other ideas in the pipeline", including a range of personal care products.
