LIVERPOOL could make a late bid to sign Juventus and Chile forward Arturo Vidal, who is wanted by Manchester United.
New United boss Louis van Gaal has been dealt a blow after the Daily Mail reported that Vidal has turned down a move to Old Trafford.
And now, it is understood that Liverpool could make a £42.5m bid to bring the Chilean star to Anfield as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title.
Spanish giants Real Madrid were also said to be interested, but it appears their interest has cooled over the asking price.
However, Liverpool seemingly still have money to spend following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, with the Reds keen to push for glory domestically and in Europe.
