Banstead Rams completed the group stage of the NatWest U19 T20 competition with fine wins over Sutton Scorchers and Addiscombe Academy to top the table by a clear six points from Ashtead.
In front of a crowd of some 400 on at Avenue Road on Monday, Sutton Scorchers managed 103-8 off their twenty overs.
A higher score looked on the cards at one stage, but they were pegged back by a fine spell by Chris Bolton of 3-12 off four overs. Banstead got off to a steady start, with 22 from Yeats and 25 from Lock, but a later order collapse made for an exciting finish, with Banstead ending up winners by one wicket in the 18th over.
On Tuesday, Addiscombe Academy were the visitors, and totalled 108 in their 20 overs, with Ben Falconer taking 3 for 24 off 4 overs. Opener Josh Stainer (40) and Craig Short (45no) put on a 63 run partnership, with the Rams getting safely home by seven wickets.
