Surrey Police is reminding residents of East Surrey to double lock doors to their property to prevent burglars gaining access to their homes.
Recently there have been a number of incidents in East Surrey where an offender has forced entry to UPVC doors using an unknown implement. It is believed these offences could have been prevented if the victim had double locked their door.
Double locking a door requires the door handle to be lifted when the key is turned which ensures that all locking components built within the door are activated to secure the frame.
