HIGH-FLYING students at East Surrey College have been rewarded for their outstanding achievements.
The Redhill college invited the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead Cllr David Pay to present awards to the students, alongside principal and chief executive Jayne Dickinson, governor Raymond Elgy and Alan Harris from awarding body VTCT.
Leah Skipper was presented with the Level 3 health and social care Student of the Year award. She was described as a "very dedicated student who meets all assignment deadlines and throws herself into classroom activities and enrichment opportunities with enthusiasm".
College spokeswoman Julia Jones added: "Leah is well-liked and a great role model to her peers. She has a strong work ethic and a commitment to health and social care values."
Level 2 plumbing student Daniel Donovan was presented with The Viessmann Trophy at the construction awards evening. He achieved distinctions in all of his exams and his practical work was all to an "exceptionally high" standard.
The Personal Achievement award was given to Katrina Dryburgh at the Celebrating Adult Learning Success Awards.
Katrina was commended for engaging in a human resources management course in order to change her career, and mixing learning with workplace activity.
Morgan Wallace was named the Student of the Year for level 2 beauty therapy.
Tutors particularly highlighted her exemplary manner with clients, as well as both the student and staff teams.
