WHILE 170,000 people enjoyed 2,000 acts at Glastonbury, 5,000 Scouts and Guides from Surrey were enjoying an action-packed weekend of their own.
Youngsters aged 10 to 15 from Banstead, Reigate and Caterham joined thousands of others from across Surrey at Scoutabout.
They enjoyed more than 200 activities while camping at the South of England showground in Ardingly from Friday to Sunday.
The weekend, supported by more than 1,500 adult volunteers acting as camp cooks and doctors, gave youngsters the chance to try car driving, bungee jumping and scuba diving.
Elaine Edwards, County Commissioner of Surrey East Guides, said: "Memories and lifelong friendships were made. A truly inspiring weekend and partnership forged between the Guides and Scout movements."
Roxanna Bostock, County Commissioner for Surrey Scouts, said everyone had a "fab time", despite the rainy weather.
