Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be leading the race to sign Cardiff City's young defender Steven Caulker.
The 22-year-old England international has sparked interest from an array of Premier League clubs but Cardiff are thought to want heavy compensation for their loss - pricing all but the top clubs out of the running.
Arsenal and Liverpool both have the transfer kitty for such a deal but as a former Tottenham Hotspur academy player, rumours from Cardiff suggest Caulker would prefer a move to Merseyside.
