THE NatWest branch in Redhill was closed for most of the week after contractors drilled through a power cable on Thursday.
Builders cut through a fibreoptic BT cable on Thursday morning, leaving cashiers unable to use their computers and turning away most of their customers. However, it remained open and offered limited services.
But the bank was unable to get back to normal over the weekend and remained completely shut on Monday and Tuesday.
A sign on the door directed customers to its Reigate, Horley, Oxted or Crawley branches.
It said: "Due to circumstances beyond our control the branch is closed at the present time.
"Please note that these issues are only affecting this branch. Online, mobile and telephone banking are unaffected. Please accept our sincerest apologies."
A NatWest spokesman said the branch could only operate without any services for so long, so had to close.
