"Lucky escape" after car ploughs into Warlingham home

A WOMAN drove into a Warlingham home after the brakes in her car failed. The silver Peugot mounted the kerb and got wedged between a house and a car parked in the driveway at about 6.30pm last night (Tuesday) in Hillbury Road. The driver, aged in her 20s, was treated by an ambulance at the scene for minor shoulder injuries. No-one else was hurt although the parked car was seriously damaged. A crew from Godstone fire station attended for 10 minutes to make sure the scene was safe. A firefighter said: "The lady who lives there was shaken up because she had only finished unpacking the boot moments before. So in that way it was a lucky escape."
