A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a car, van and car transporter collided on the M25.
Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident on the M25 near Reigate this afternoon (Thursday).
A blue Vauxhall Zafira, a white Iveco van and a car transporter were involved in the collision between Junction 8 for Reigate and Junction 9 for Leatherhead at around 3pm.
Traffic was held back in both directions to allow an air ambulance to land.
The casualty was taken via land ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting.
No other injuries were reported.
The anti-clockwise carriageway is now open however one lane remains shut on the clockwise stretch while the slip road at junction 8 is also closed.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact the Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or 01483 639922.
