LIVERPOOL are planning a summer swoop to sign 18-year-old Schalke starlet Max Meyer, as they look to fend off competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
The teenager, who was included in Joachim Loew's provisional 30-man Germany squad for the World Cup in Brazil, is being tipped as a future star of the game.
And after scoring seven goals from midfield for Schalke last season, he is attracting interest from the Premier League, with London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea both keen on a move.
However, the Daily Express is reporting that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to sign Meyer to strengthen his midfield options, with the Anfield outfit planning an £8m move.
