A MAN who suffered burns to his face and arms in a garage fire in Hamsey Green was a customer waiting for his car to be fixed. Thirty-five firefighters battled a blaze at Ken's Autos in Limpsfield Road this morning. A 28-year-old man, believed to be a customer waiting for his car to be fixed, was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting with 20 per cent burns. The fire has now been brought under control and the cause is being investigated. Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.17am following reports of an explosion. Eye witnesses said the sky was black with smoke. The road was closed and neighbouring businesses and homes were evacuated as six fire crews tackled the flames.
