Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to battle it out for Mario Mandzukic after the Croatian confirmed he wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
The striker has revealed to a newspaper in his native Croatia than he plans to leave the Bundesliga champions, admitting his game does not suit the style Bayern play under manager Pep Guardiola.
"I met with [Bayern Munich chairman] Karl Heinz Rummenigge before the cup final and told him I wanted to leave the club," Mandzukic told Sportske Novosti.
"I've had a fantastic time at Bayern. It's a great club and I never thought I'd want to leave, and especially not at this point in time.
"But, let's be honest, I cannot play to my strengths under Guardiola's style – no matter how hard I try."
The 27-year-old has already drawn much interest from the Premier League and with both Arsenal and Chelsea have money to spent this summer, Mandzukic's availability could spark a bidding war.
