Three arrested following £6.5k Oxted robbery

Three people have been arrested and bailed following a robbery at a Co-operative store in Oxted. The incident occurred at around 9pm on Sunday, June 1 at the store in Station Road. Two people entered the still-open shop claiming to be making a delivery and took a member of staff to a restricted area before threatening him for cash. The offenders left with around £6,500. Investigating officer Detective Constable Kerry Akehurst, said: "Since this offence occurred we have made a number of enquiries in the local area which resulted in the arrest of three people. "I hope the swift arrests go some way to reassure the public and shop workers in the Tandridge area." Two men in their 20s from Wallington and a woman in her 20s from London were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been released on police bail until Friday, July 25 while the investigation continues.
