Pensioner dies after shots fired at Surrey doctors' surgery

A MAN in his 80s has died after shots were fired at a GP surgery in Frimley. Surrey Police were called to the Station Road Surgery at around 11am following reports of a firearm being used in the building. An elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers are not treating the death as suspicious and have ruled out any third party involvement. The area near Frimley High Street has been cordoned off while detectives investigate. A Surrey Police spokesman said: "Surrey Police was called to a doctor's surgery in Station Road, Frimley just before 11am this morning following reports of a sudden death. "Officers and other emergency services attended the location after reports that a firearm had been discharged inside the building. "The body of a man, believed to be in his 80s, was discovered at the scene, where he was pronounced dead. "Officers are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death but at this stage there is no indication of any third party involvement or wider risk to the local community. "A post mortem examination will take place in due course."
