ELKIE Brooks is regarded as a genuine national treasure. Known for her rich and distinctive voice, she has been entertaining people around the world for the last five decades.
In that time she has recorded iconic songs including her signature tune, Pearl's A Singer, as well as Lilac Wine, Sunshine After the Rain and Fool (If You Think It's Over).
She has had 16 UK hit albums in 25 years and released her 20th studio album, Powerless, in 2010.
Elkie's professional debut at age 15 began a career that has spanned most musical genres and featured collaborations with some of the finest musicians of their generation.
The road to stardom was never an easy journey but she has dealt with hardships with the same spirit, grit and determination that colours the emotional power of her singing.
In her autobiography, Finding My Voice, which was published last year, Elkie tells her story, laying bare the nuts and bolts of stardom and her commitment to music.
