A HOMECARE provider is out to recruit 100 more employees following its move to Redhill.
The huge rise in its staff represents a three-fold increase – and is a vote of confidence for the up-and-coming town.
Prestige Nursing + Care, which was formerly in Bancroft Road, Reigate, moved at the turn of the year to Warwick Road, Redhill. Currently the firm employs 35 workers who work with about 70 clients, providing around 3,500 hours of support a month.
But, by 2021, the population aged 65 and over in Reigate and Banstead is projected to increase to 29,000, a rise of 27 per cent.
Branch manager Jan Jones said: "Moving to Redhill comes at a hugely exciting time for Prestige as we continue to grow following increased demand across the region.
"The scale of recruitment currently required is unparalleled for us and highlights the potential for the year ahead.
"We believe that moving the branch to Redhill, with its ongoing regeneration, will put us in the strongest position to attract and deliver the best talent.
"Population projections for those who will be aged over 65 in just a few years show the scale of the potential shortage of carers unless this is addressed."
