South Park reach 100-points milestone after win over Horley Town

Combined Counties League Premier Division South Park 2 Horley Town 0 South Park overcame a determined Horley Town side to win 2-0 on Easter Monday and in doing so reach the 100 points mark for the season. Stafford's free kick evaded the Park forward's and was cleared by the Horley defence. Jackson won the ball in the centre of the pitch and found Pullin on the right whose cross to the far post was headed clear by the Horley defence. Nadesan broke clear down the left for Horley and his shot was deflected behind for a corner. Park conceded a free kick 22 yards out and Guscott blocked Charlie Smith's goal bound free kick. Guscott then denied Hough and Park scramled the resultant corner clear. Charlie Smith's thunderous shot cannoned back of the bar. Michael Smith had a 20 yard shot turned behind by Hyde in the Horley goals and Chris Smith had a shot blocked as Park began to get the upper hand after Horley's promising opening to the game. From Chris Smith's in swinging corner Ward headed against the bar and Jackson headed straight at Hyde from O'Sullivan's cross. O'Sullivan shot over form the edge of the box and Guscott headed wide just before the interval. The first attempt at goal in the second half came from Nadesan for Horley whose shot was parried by Wastell and Hough headed the rebound over the bar form close range. A Horley free kick dropped to Jupp whose short on the turn flashed past the post. Burgess had a shot deflected which was comfortably saved by Hyde. The deadlock was broken in the 62nd minute when Jackson latched onto a diagonal ball and was bundled over in the box. Chris Smith stepped up and placed his spot kick in the corner to record his 49th goal of the season. O'Connor replaced Burgess and was in the action immediately curling a 25 yard shot narrowly wide of the far post. Jackson headed a Chris Smith corner straight at Hyde before shooting wide after fine work form Lavery. O'Sullivan attacking down the right drove his cross along the six yard box for Jackson who found the back of the net to double Park's advantage. Lavery held the ball up and found Parratt whose shot was saved by Hyde. Jackson shot wide for Park whilst Nadesan shot was saved by Wastell. Park now travel to Bedfont Sports on Saturday before ending their season with a home game against Windsor on Saturday 3rd May.
