WHYTELEAFE striker Greg Andrews hailed his team-mates after the Leafe sealed promotion back to the Ryman League Division One South.
Andrews came on as a substitute and netted the second goal as Leafe beat Ashford United 2-0 to win the Southern Counties East League title this afternoon (Monday), ensuring their return to step four of non-league football.
And Andrews, who has previously played at that level with Leatherhead and Merstham, among others, said he was pleased to contribute to the promotion push.
"I said to the gaffer I wanted to come on and get the winner and I was so pleased to get the goal," he said.
"I struck it quite hard and there might have been a bit of frustration at not starting the game, but it wasn't about me, it was about the team and getting the win.
"It is what we wanted to get it done here at home today and it is a great day.
"I think we have deserved it and it means a lot to this club, and now we are back where we belong."
