AFTER rain and snow blighted the event in years gone by, Sunday's RSPCA fun day in South Godstone was entitled to good weather.
In July 2012, the fair at the RSPCA centre in Eastbourne Road was wrecked by flooding – and last year's fun day was affected by snow.
But this weekend proved purr-fect, with warm sunshine greeting the hundreds of visitors at the weekend.
Attractions awaiting them included an Easter egg hunt, family games, bottle and teddy bear tombolas, and face-painting.
There was even a bug hunting game involving a lavatory.
Visitors were also able to see the animals which are currently under the centre's care – a full house of 50 cats and 39 dogs.
About £3,000 was raised from the event, exceeding the proceeds from last year's fun day.
The money will go towards the funding of two new kennel blocks at the centre, which are due for completion in August.
A sound-absorbent ceiling is also being fitted in the new blocks to cushion the noise from the dogs.
