BANSTEAD Cricket Club are hoping to repeat the success of last year's event when they host their Ladies' Day on Sunday, April 13.
The Rams are hoping to expand their women's and girls' section and are encouraging all ages and abilities to come down to the club and see what the sport has to offer.
There will be an adult match as local rivals Reigate Priory Ladies take on Epsom Ladies in a pre-season friendly, and a youth cricket tournament, where Epsom U11s hope to defend their title.
"We had a great turnout last year with lots of schools attending as well," David Kellingley, Banstead's welfare officer, explained. "It's a fun day with food and drink, a bouncy castle and stalls, as well as the cricket matches going on.
"Personally, I don't feel girls are encouraged to play enough sport and we want to give them a chance to give cricket a go. We're hoping to expand our ladies' section and get some girls' teams going.
"Banstead is a friendly club and I think once people come down once, they'll want to come again."
The event is from 9am-5pm at Banstead's Avenue Road ground.
