ZACK KING is under no illusions about the task that Warlingham face in their next two games, but the skipper is philosophical about his team's chances of avoiding relegation.
Warlingham go into their last two games six points clear of second-to-bottom Lewes, but with the Surrey team facing London Two South East's top two, Charlton Park and Maidstone, things are not looking rosy.
However, King has called on his team to play to their best and battle for every bonus point, knowing it is likely to be a tight finish to avoid the drop.
"We couldn't have two worse games," King said.
"All we can do is regroup and go out there and try our best - no-one expects us to get anything from those two teams.
"But then again, no-one was expecting us to get anything from Medway and we only lost that by one point.
"We got two bonus points that day, and bonus points could make all the difference in the end.
"If in two weeks' time we are still in the league then that will be because we deserve to be there. I'm a big believer in league tables not lying."
King was forced to watch Warlingham's 52-7 home defeat to Sevenoaks from the sidelines on Saturday after picking up a concussion against Lewes two weeks earlier, but he is "pretty confident" he will be back for the Charlton Park match.
"We have had a few players out and when we are missing players it tends to show on the scoreboard," King admitted.
"It isn't nice watching the team lose but they certainly weren't 45 points better than us."
Warlingham were three tries down within 20 minutes but Sevenoaks butchered two more with poor handling when they were certain to score.
The home side's tackling was just not up to the strong running of the visitors despite prop Antony Abou-Zeid tackling well in the loose and number eight A J Hemsley making some yardage with the ball in hand.
From one of Warlingham's rare incursions into the Sevenoaks 22, they were awarded a five-metre scrum from which Hemsley forced his way over for a try. Full-back Joe McEvoy converted.
In the second half, Warlingham perked up and took the game to the visitors and scrum-half Steven Murtagh looked to have scored but was adjudged to have been held up over the line.
And Sevenoaks ran in five second half tries to complete the misery for Warlingham, while at the death Hemsley, with ball in hand, dragged a swarm of Sevenoaks players over the try-line only for Wars to have a try disallowed for the second time in the match.
Warlingham have two difficult fixtures against Charlton Park and Maidstone to end their league season as they bid to retain their London Two South East status.
