REDHILL gained a massive and morale-boosting win last night (Thursday) as they defeated play-off chasing Faversham Town 2-0 away from home. The Lobsters, fighting a relegation battle from the Ryman One South and sitting third bottom before kick off, took the lead on nine minutes through Gavin Gordon and didn't look back from there. Redhill had to wait until the eight minutes before full time to double their advantage when Charlie Holness scored on 82 minutes to seal a massive win for the visitors - only their second so far in 2014. Redhill extinguished any play-off hopes for Faversham as a result of beating them in their own back yard and now head into Saturday's relegation six-pointer with Crawley Down Gatwick full of confidence. The Lobsters remain third-bottom in the Ryman One South but took full advantage of Crawley Down's 10-0 hammering at runaway leaders Peacehaven on Tuesday by pulling three points clear of their relegation rivals.
