An overheated extractor fan caused the evacuation of Barclays bank in Redhill this morning.
The high street bank was evacuated after staff noticed smoke coming from a ladies toilet.
Staff discovered the smoke soon after opening. Naina Limbachia, an employee, said: "At first we thought it was someone using an electric cigarette, but then we realised it was really strong."
Reigate fire station explained that the extractor fan was located in the building above the bank, which was why firefighters needed to access the roof.
