AN HGV driver was found to be more than three times over the drink-drive limit after fellow motorists reported him to police as he drove on the M25 near Reigate.
Three alarmed fellow drivers called police at around 1.30pm last Friday after seeing the lorry being driven dangerously on the clockwise carriageway close to junction 8.
Officers from Surrey Police's Roads Policing Unit stopped the HGV and breath tested the driver. He blew a reading of 116 - with the legal limit being 35 micrograms in 100 ml of breath.
The driver was arrested and later charged and remanded.
On Saturday, Marcus Pilitauskas, 35, from Lithuania, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Redhill Magistrates' Court. He was handed a 12-week suspended sentence and a 30-month driving ban and ordered to pay £80 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
